Associate Pastor Job Description (Worship)
Summary Statement
The Worship Pastor will report to and collaborate with the Senior Pastor to shepherd, disciple, and equip the church family. This pastor will lead and develop the worship ministry, cultivating Christ-centered, biblically faithful worship that engages the congregation and supports the overall mission of the church.
Biblical Qualifications

Ministry Requirements and Responsibilities
Personal Life
- Live the Christian life in all faithfulness according to the clear teaching of Scripture and sanctification of the Holy Spirit; raising his family in like manner.
- Be devoted to prayer, careful study of Scripture, and handling Scripture in exegetical and expositional preaching and teaching.
- Proclaim the gospel and lead the church in proclaiming the gospel to the church and community.
- Live a life of repentance.
Worship Ministry Responsibilities
- Develop, cast, and implement the vision for worship ministry in coordination with the pastoral staff.
- Develop and manage a comprehensive worship, music, and media ministry program for all demographics of the church (children, youth, and adults).
- Oversee all aspects of the music ministry, including Sunday morning services, choirs, and special events.
- In coordination with the pastoral staff, oversee the planning, preparation, and leadership of Sunday morning services.
- Ensure a high quality of music and media in both content (biblically and theologically strong) and presentation.
- Recruit, train, and lead volunteers in the music ministry, including regular rehearsals.
- Plan outreach events related to worship.
Media Ministry Responsibilities
- Remain up to date with current worship and technology trends.
- Oversee the preparation of all on-screen presentations, worship songs, videos, etc., for Sunday services and special events.
- Ensure all technology and media equipment is operational and appropriately utilized.
- Coordinate, train, and schedule necessary volunteers to cover Sunday morning and events requiring audio, visual, and lighting.
- Oversee the streaming of worship services and events.
Pastoral Ministry Responsibilities
- Assist in casting and implementation of the overall vision of the church.
- Lead or assist in evangelism, outreach, visitation, and/or counseling as needed.
- Lead or assist in weddings and funerals as needed.
- Lead or assist in discipleship ministries (seniors, families, youth, children, young adults, etc.) (based on gifting and calling).
